It seem...I always find problem with painted lances. It seems to be common thing amongst Transylvanians, you can also see them painted on Stockholm Roll but that's probably due to event. Those painting showing them used in battles seems to present them in brownish-redish colours, which could in fact indicate that they weren't painted at all. I would say blue lances, if you want to be historically accurate, to be a big 'no way' :) Colour of pennant would have nothing to do with colour of lance, it was more linked with 'rotmistrz' of the banner (like Radziwiłł's hussars with black and yellow, related to his coat of arms). I have used all of the same pattern pennants, but on double checking I think I may have spotted the problem. I have placed two of them a different way up to the others. This is probably what you spotted. I will have to adjust those two! :D <br />Good thing to check for future units. I have a nice looking set of blue and yellow pennants also from Battle Flag. Would lances painted blue be a possibility to go with these? Lances look most often to be shown as painted red (with patterns sometimes) in illustrations. Maybe it's just wrong impression I have from photos, but some of them look like typical half and half white and red flag while other as red and white checkered patttern.
